Just a girl mom trying to survive in this crazy world of perfection. Being a mom is hard; The comparison trap is a real thing and we are constantly trying to be better!
I was a career woman, always striving for the next promotion and working hard to achieve freedom and success in Corporate America; until I had kids. I realized that there was more to life then uninterrupted showers, a glass of wine and Netflix, and big paychecks spent entirely on myself. Although I never wanted kids, God knew I needed them and placed them in my life at the absolute perfect time. Now I spend my days working from home, watching endless episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and changing diapers all while helping other women feel confident and beautiful, one piece of clothing at a time!
I married my high school sweetheart, after dating for 10 years, and he is my prince charming. He asked me to be his girlfriend on AOL Instant Messenger (remember that?!) He cooks, he does his own laundry and he has pretty much mastered being a girl dad, except for the fact that he can’t say no and he thinks it is OK to eat cookies for dinner! (insert eye roll). He is my rock and that’s how we roll!
I love to travel, but hate to fly; I am not a fan of girl scout cookies (I’d rather have Oreo’s); I HATE to cook and I am not in competition to be the perfect mom, I’d rather order it on Amazon Prime. I was a jeans and tee shirt kinda girl before LuLaRoe, but now I take pride in looking good, even if it only took me a few minutes to get ready! I believe in loving hard and letting go because sometimes that is necessary. Once I accepted the fact that I was having kids, I just knew I would be a boy mom – but again God proved me wrong and placed 2 sweet little girls in our family. We love pink, big hair bows and ruffles, glitter and dirt. Yep, you aren’t truly living until you clean dirt out of your little girls princess dresses and crowns.
I now live on caffeine and chaos and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Join us here for constant shenanigans and stories that make you realize that its OK to not be perfect, as long as you are the best YOU, you can be!
