I’m sure that if you are reading this then you are busy. Like, “I probably shouldn’t be reading this because I have 5011 other things to do, but I need to know” kinda busy. Well thats me too! I’ve been known to get ready in 5 minutes or 60 minutes, just depending on the situation. Heres a simple rule of life. You leave the house looking like a hot mess, you will see everyone you know! If you actually take time to get ready, you’re bound to not see anyone you know. I was tired of getting dressed up just to go to the grocery store. I decided to do something for myself that would not only improve my look but save time too!
My Experience with Microbladding
A good friend of mine, Missy Duncan, opened a beautiful new studio where she specializes in microbladding for brows, eyeliner and lips. The one thing I love most about Missy is that she is a perfectionist. She always made sure that I looked my absolute best when she took our photos as a photographer, and that is no different now that she does permanent makeup! When she opened Missy’s Ink, I was halfway through my pregnancy and we decided it was best to wait until after the baby was born before having the procedure. Side Note: there is no actual rule about waiting, but your body can do funny things when your pregnant, and I didn’t want to risk it – discoloration, fading and/or extra pain.
Step by Step Process
This is a before picture, and the reason I NEVER left the house without my brows colored in. They are basically non existent. Once I arrived at Missy’s Ink, We immediately got started with numbing cream.
The numbing cream made a huge difference. I am a wimp when it comes to pain, and have never had a tattoo. I can honestly say there was no pain in the microbladding of my eyebrows. Once Missy applied the numbing cream, we then decided on a color. Since my eyebrows were basically gray before, I didn’t want to go TO dark, but I also didn’t want them to be too light. The hardest part of this process for me, was picking the color!
Once we decided on a color, she measured out my brows. This was the part I was probably most surprised about.
I honestly thought that she would just make the perfect shape on my face, but she actually had a sticker that helped perfectly align my brows with my eyes, nose and face shape!
She then dotted out my brows with a permanent marker!! It was weird seeing myself with permanent marker on my face (A mothers worst nightmare!), but it helps her keep the shape while she is wiping away the ink.
Overall, I am in love with the way my brows look and it saves me so much time getting ready in the morning. This is a picture of me immediately following the procedure.
